Babar Rao, MD (1998 to 1999)

Dr. Babar Rao is a 1983 graduate of RMC. He has done his training in Dermatology at Institute of Dermatology, University of London, University of Southwestern, Dallas, TX, NYU, Cornell and UMD, New Jersey. Currently he is Assistant Professor of Dermatology, Director Resident Education and Director of Derma pathology at UMD-Robertwood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJH. He is one of the founding member of RMCAANA.

Sohail Ikram, MD (1999-2000)

Dr. Sohail Ikram is a 1984 RMC graduate. He did his Internal Medicine residency at University of Louisville followed by a fellowship in Cardiology at the same institution. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. Currently, he is in practice in a single specialty group in Jeffersonville, IN. He is also one of the founding member of RMCAANA.

Avais Masud, MD (2000 to 2001)

Dr. Avais is a RMC graduate of 1985. He was an executive member of the students union in 1982-84. He did Internal Medicine residency from North shore University Hospital, NY, and a fellowship in Nephrology from Medical College of Virginia. He did fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at University of MA. He is a Diplomat in American Board of Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Critical Care. He is working at a teaching hospital in New Jersey as an Attending Physician. He is also one of the founding member of RMCAANA.

Nadeem Iqbal, MD (2001-2002)

Dr. Nadeem Iqbal is a 1984 graduate. He did his residency in Neurology at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, VA. This was followed by a two year fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at the same institution. He is Board Certified in both Neurology and the sub-specialty of Vascular Neurology. He is also Board Eligible in Clinical Neurophysiology. Currently he is in practice in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is also one of the founding member of RMCAANA.

Mohammed Aamer Nawaz, MD (2003)

Dr Aamer Nawaz is a 1986 RMC graduate. He did a Diploma in Dermatology in 1988 at the University of London UK. He also served as Head Dermatology Dept at Rawalpindi General Hospital from 1989 to 1992. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at Salem Hospital Salem Mass. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Currently he is practicing Internal Medicine in Tampa, FL.

Amer Akmal, MD (2004)

Dr Amer Akmal is a 1986 RMC graduate. He did Pathology Residency at Monmouth Medical Center, new Jersey. He did Fellowships in Transfusion medicine (University of Alabama) and Cytopathology (louisiana State University). He is Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Transfusion Medicine and Cytopathology. Currently he is in private practice in Paterson, New Jersey.

Raza Bokhari, MD, MBA (2005)

Dr. Raza Bokhari graduated from RMC in 1990. While in Medical School in 1989, he was elected to office of the Vice President of Students Union. He currently is the Chief Executive Officer of Lakewood Pathology Associates, multi-specialty Pathology practitioners in the state of New Jersey. Dr. Bokhari is also the Laboratory Director for Princeton Biomedical Laboratories, a high complexity clinical Pathology laboratory located in Philadelphia . He is also affiliated with the Fox School of Business & Management, Temple University, Philadelphia, as a “Mentor” and was elected as the “Entrepreneur-in-residence” for the academic year 2001-02.

Farhat Abbas Khan,MD (2006)

Dr Khan graduated from RMC in 1988. He completed his residency in Internal medicine from Abington memorial hospital of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He is board certified in Internal medicine. Currently he is working with Dept of Veterans Affairs as federal staff physician and living in Madison, Wisconsin.

Shahid Rafiq (2007)

Shahid Rafiq is a graduate of 1984. He took a detour coming to US. He spent years of Nelson Mandala's presidency in South Africa. He finished his residency in Neurology from Seton Hall University, New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at JFK Hospital, Edison NJ. He has done a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Sleep Medicine from the University of TX Health Science Center in San Antonio TX. He is Board Certified in Neurology and the sub-specialty of Vascular Neurology. Currently, he is practicing in Fredrick, MD

Raheela Pirzada (2008)

Dr. Raheela Pirzada is 1990 graduate. She completed her Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship at University of West Virginia. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care. Currently in clinical practice at a teaching hospital with Temple University. She lives in Pittsburgh.

Tanveer Ahmad, MD (2009)

Dr Tanveer Ahmad graduated from RMC with the first batch in 1980. He did his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Grant Hospital Chicago/Rush Presbyterian Saint Luke's Chicago. Currently he is a solo practitioner at Marengo, IL. He has been actively involved in several community organizations for over two decades.

Sophia Janjua, MD (2010)

Sophia Janjua graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College in 1988. She completed her Gastroenterology fellowship from Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago in 1999, and has been in private practice with a single specialty group in NW Indiana since then.

Shahida Rehmani, MD (2011)

Dr Shahida Rehmani graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College in 1985. She did her residency in Psychiatry from the University of Buffalo. This was followed by a Fellowship in Child Psychiatry from University of Rochester, NY. Currently she is practicing as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in Rochester, NY. She is the medical director of a chemical dependency clinic for adolescent population. She is part time academic faculty at University of Rochester, NY, and is involved with training of Child and adolescent psychiatry fellows and medical students.

Qasim Hasan, MD (2012)

M. Qasim Hasna graduated from RMC in 1997. He worked in the Medical and Gastroenterology departments before obtaining his MPH degree from the University of Texas (UT-Houston – School of Public Health). He worked on various research projects at UT-SPH and UT-MD Anderson Cancer Center Dr. Hasan trained in Internal Medicine at Forest Park Hospital (St. Louis, MO) and Morristown Memorial Hospital (Morristown, NJ). He then moved to Arizona and has been working as an internist since then. He is currently also the Medical Director for MHC Healthcare.

Hina Naushad, MD (2013)

Dr. Hina Naushad graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College in 1996. She completed her pathology residency from University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha Nebraska in 2004. She then completed a one year surgical pathology fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO in 2005 followed by a two year fellowship in hematopathology from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2007. She worked as an assistant professor at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha from 2007 to 2012 where she directed the flow cytometry and hematology laboratories and was also the director for M2 Hematology/Oncology course at Creighton University School of Medicine. Currently she is as an assistant professor in the division of hematopathology at University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Dr. Rummana Aslam (2014)

Dr. Rummana Aslam (2014) is a 1985 graduate of RMC. Her residency training includes General Surgery at University of California San Francisco and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Sinai Hospital Baltimore. She completed two fellowships, one in Surgical Critical Care at Johns Hopkins Medical Institute and second in Wound Healing at University of California San Francisco. Currently she is Director, Center for Advanced Wound Care at Hackensack University Medical Center New Jersey and Academic Faculty at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She has been active in Wound Healing research since 2002 and has several publications and continues to give lectures and presentations nationally and internationally.

Sohail Minhas, MD 2015

Dr Sohail Minhas is a 1985 RMC graduate. He is a Hematologist & Oncologist with fellowship training in bone marrow transplantation. He has been a faculty at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He is now a part of the Boston Baskin Cancer Foundation. He has interests mainly in GI cancers and is involved in research and developing a GI multi- disciplinary program

Neeraj Mahboob, MD 2016

Neeraj Mahboob, M.D. is an internist in London, Kentucky. He is also the Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Kentucky’s Outreach Faculty in Lexington. Along with being certified by and serving as a Diplomate with the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Mahboob is a Fellow of American College of Physicians and Member of American Medical Association and has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Kentucky Colonel, for rendering outstanding community services.

Zahid Rafiq, MD

Zahid Rafiq MD, CCFP, FCFP
Dr. Zahid Rafiq is currently working as GP/Surgeon in Calgary, Alberta Canada. He practices family medicine, performs office based procedures and teaches procedural skills to family medicine residents at Cumming School of Medicine-University of Calgary. He is a board member for MOSAIC primary care network. He is an assessor for Preliminary Clinical Assessment Program by College of Physicians and Surgeon of Alberta (CPSA) for foreign graduates and examiner for Certification examination in Family Medicine.
Dr. Zahid Rafiq is a graduate of 1990 batch. He worked with Doctors Without Borders in Zimbabwe for Mozambican refugees in 1993/94. He moved to South Africa in 1995 where he did his surgical training before moving to Canada in 2002. His mission for 2019 is to bring Rawalians in North America together and strengthen RMCAANA
